Why Switching to Squarespace was THE Best Decision.

I don't like change, but does anyone?

My blog has always been a constant, I've always had a similar layout and aesthetic to it which is something I've never been entirely happy with and believe me, I've spent far too many hours on photoshop trying to come up with new logos that have me satisfied but alas, to no end. So making a midnight decision to switch to Squarespace and paying for it was something that I really had to stick with.

But let me break it down for you.

The Layout Flexibility.

I'm a bit of a control freak and I hated not being able to sort my own theme or make any changes when I wanted. With Squarespace, you can completely change everything yourself using "blocks" which really adds a great element of flexibility. Once you get the hang of it, it's incredibly simple to do.

The Post Layout.

Similarly with the blog layout, you can also arrange your posts with said blocks which means there are no constraints or anything like that. Much more creative and much more online magazine like.

Building a Brand.

With starting to try (and attempt) to make Youtube videos, I wanted a space where I could incorporate them all and try and make Life of Ellie Grace into a brand. I think I'm starting to accomplish this!

Overall, whilst I'm going for the whole online magazine vibe, I don't want to lose my own personal voice as that's what makes blogs so relatable. But who are we kidding, it wouldn't be Life of Ellie Grace without a couple of whinging posts.

What do you think of the new layout?
