Party Proof Lip Edit

We're well into Festive party territory and alongside the lure of bottomless Prosecco, comes the oh so glittery party dresses and more importantly, the perfect party lipstick. This may not be everyone's ideal but when parties leave little time to get ready and may involve going straight from work, sometimes a lip is all we have to work with. So here are my top choices.

Jeffree Star's Unicorn Blood. This is certainly a covetable lipstick in the beauty world - I believe they've only just come back into stock but this is your typical deep burgundy liquid matte lipstick which is my ideal for parties as once applied, it's not going anywhere. Honestly, even with a lot of scrubbing, this only comes off with a lip scrub or serious toothbrush exfoliation. However, this is definitely not a bad thing and makes it ideal for long nights and either food or prosecco. Take your pick.

ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip in More Better is another matte liquid lipstick that makes the cut. This is a berry toned deep pink that reminds me of red wine stained lips but boy does it last. As much as I love these lipsticks, they are quite drying but this lasts even with an undercoat of lipbalm. I wore it to a Gin tasting (yum) and it lasted all night and was even in tact when I got home. Maybe not ideal for a dinner as it smudges ever so slightly but perfect for after work drinks or a night out.

MAC Diva is probably the vampiest lipstick I own as it's very much on the purple/blue spectrum. Again, a matte finish, this is a great lipstick with fairly neutral eyemakeup but boy does it vamp up a look. I like pairing this with a lipliner as it can bleed and again, go for a lipbalm first, but I love it. It makes me feel super chic and put together. I love this with an all black outfit. Nothing compares.

NYX Lipstick Lingerie in Bedtime Flirt errs away from the cliche berry lips as it's a soft pink but I think it's the ideal for pairing with a golden glittery eye look (because what else is more festive?). The NYX Lingerie lipsticks are my go to for nights out where I'm eating & drinking as they really last and don't budge but as they're all nudes, the colour range isn't the most extensive - although they do have a dark brown that I have my eye on.
