#BeautifullySwedish with Rekorderlig Cider at Underbelly Festival, Southbank AD
There’s something about London on a summer’s day, sat in amongst the buzz of a food-filled festival, with an ice cold drink. Sounds pretty dreamy, right? Last week I found myself in central London, experiencing the Rekorderlig Botanicals Bar at Underbelly Festival Southbank – and it was a pretty fab time.
Located only a stone’s throw from the London Eye, is Underbelly Festival Southbank– a festival that hosts not only an assortment of food stalls, but comedy acts, cabaret and is currently home to the Rekorderlig Botanicals Bar.
The Rekorderlig Botanicals Bar is a pop-up that serves the classic Rekorderlig flavours and the delicious new Botanicals range made up of Grapefruit-Rosemary, Peach-Basil and Rhubarb-Lemon-Mint. The flavours are beautiful, delicate and the perfect summer drink when served ice cold! My favourite has to be the Grapefruit-Rosemary, as it has a wonderful combination of the sharp tang of grapefruit with the warmth of the rosemary. If you’d like something a bit different, they also offer freshly made Rekorderlig Botanicals cider cocktails!
I visited the Rekorderlig Botanicals Bar on the longest day of the year, Midsummer, so it was a gorgeous bright evening and the perfect time to experience the festival! Midsummer is a bit of a Swedish tradition, so it was the most opportune time to try the new Beautifully Swedish Ciders! The bar is completely instagrammable and is all soft muted pastel colours with sprigs of greenery, and even features a wall of plants! It’s on a slight platform which gave a great view over the festival and was the perfect spot for people watching!
Following the festival, we made our way to a one-time event sponsored by Rekorderlig, in association with Time Out for a screening of Little Miss Sunshine to celebrate Midsummer. The event was on the top deck of the boat and was an open-air screening of the film! Although it was a little chilly, we also took part in an activity to celebrate Midsummer – the creation of wildflower crowns, to harness nature’s magic and ensure good health throughout the year (and of course we were able to have another try of a Rekorderlig Botanicals cider!) It was a wonderful way to experience a glorious summer day whilst also celebrating the Swedish tradition!
You can sample the new Rekorderlig Botanicals range at the Underbelly Festival Southbank until 30th September. Entry to the festival is free, but the tickets to shows start at £20.
Time Out is running its ‘Movies on the River’, until 18th August. You can buy tickets to your movie of choice here.
