Dating in Derbyshire

With restrictions affecting places to go and who we're able to visit - there's a whole new spanner in the works when it comes to dating. Regardless of whether you've been vaccinated or not, meeting someone for the first time can make it so difficult to gage what they're comfortable with. We love an additional moment that makes dating so much more difficult... So I thought I'd share some of my fave things and ideas so you can continue to date in Derbyshire even with restrictions.

  1. The Nature Date With so much indoors still closed, spending a bit of time in mother nature is a perfect opportunity for a pandemic date because you're in the open air with plenty of space - so nothing to worry about with socially distancing or cross contamination. So say you've met someone on a Derbyshire Dating site - why not suggest a little park and picnic date? You could both bring plenty of food to share (or individually packaged) and throw a little picnic blanket down and you're sorted for a great date without any stresses. Not sure where to go? Why not have a look at local Derbyshire blogs for their advice on choosing a park.

  2. The beer garden date Hospitality has taken a real hit in the past year or so, so why not combine a drink with some good weather and visit a beer garden? Plus a drink can be great for getting over any first date jitters. Because this is another outside opportunity, it's a safe open air environment and you have the bonus of being surrounded by people (which can help avoid awkwardness). If you're not sure where to go, have a little scroll on instagram or tripadvisor - a bit of social media research never hurt no one. I'd always suggest a drinks date if you're not 100% sure on the person yet as it's a great commitment-free way of gaging the energy (because the energy is highly important).

  3. Online Movie date If you're still a bit nervous about entering the real world and aren't quite yet ready to meet in person - there are so many online platforms to watch Netflix or Prime together! There's nothing like watching a film or series together to get to know someones preferences (because lets be honest, TV brings us all together). This could be a great shout if one of you is feeling low or tired as you can share an experience without having to meet in person. If you're not a fan of a late night, you could always use this as a great midweek date as it reduces travel time and you can make it an early night. And we love a midweek bonding session!

  4. Museum date A museum date is always so much fun and there are plenty of activities for a Derbyshire Dating date! These are always a great opportuntity to keep you both engaged as 'doing' dates give you plenty to do so that you're engaged and busy looking at things. I'm a huge fan of a wholesome date and you have the bonus of learning about history or natural science - and it gives you something to talk about with your date. Learning is fun, kids. Plus it's an awesome way to gauge any common interests (or you may not have them to begin with).
