Urban Outfitters Summer Camp SS'13

Urban Outfitters is certainly one of my favourite high street brands as it always stocks an assorted variety of clothes that are suitable for numerous occasions whilst still giving off a 'hip' vibe.

One thing that I particularly love is the edgy look that UO is famous for, the indefinite hipster association with it making many pieces ideal for festivals such as Glastonbury.

With current predictions that the Summer of 2013 will (fingers crossed) be one of the hottest yet, many of the looks illustrated in the photographs seem to be absolutely perfect for a day in the park or evening BBQ.

A trend that seems to be particularly prominent this season is high waisted shorts, skirts or trousers paired with crop tops or slouchy graphic tees, and the Summer Camp esque lookbook certainly plays into this with the pairing of delicate lace crop tops and distressed denim shorts. Similarly applies with crepe knit jumpers which are warm enough for 'hot' summers in the UK and would be perfect for the occasional chilly evening by the barbecue. I know that whenever I go for dinner outside, I end up needing a jumper or cardigan but maybe it's all those years I've spent in Asia!

Although I adore the styling that comes alongside the lookbook, I actually adore the setting. It is rather brilliant to adopt the idea of a Summer Camp, hence tying it in with classic American summers hence the Varsity graphic crop top and American flag print shorts. Whilst scrounging the net for potential purchases, there is a definite commonality with such things, especially with the return of dungarees, trends seem to be heading in the direction of what one imagines members of the Brady Bunch to wear; we still love it. All that needs to come back now is baseball caps and we're all set!

What do you think of the styling and set for the shoot?
