Burberry Prosum A/W14 - Words Fail Me

It was a blessing in disguise that I was off work today as it meant I was able to watch the Burberry Prosum Womenswear show from the comfort of my bed and not have it playing in the background in the office. And I was glad I did see it as Bailey never fails to disappoint and the collection was phenomenal.

Graphic prints and scarves took centre stage, with numerous looks featuring a silk scarf tucked into a waist cinching belt - a look which I was initially apprehensive about but soon grew to love. There was a Mary Poppins twist to many a outfit as carpet bags seemed to be making a comeback although they looked far from frumpy on the arm of a model!

Whilst the collection started out with classically autumnal rust colours, it did take a turn for the dark with more midnight blues making an appearance often paired with a sheer fabric.

Borge bomber jackets (which shall always be quintessentially Burberry) made an appearance with a modern twist and bold prints decorating the normally plan brown jacket exterior.

Hair and makeup was minimal which has always been a reason I love Burberry, the whole look creating a very English Rose appearance - natural and simple, allowing the clothing to take centre stage.

Overall, I was beyond impressed and am now coveting anything Burberry (someone throw me a scarf or two!)
