Eyeshadows That Pack a Punch

I'm a massive fan of eyeshadows and when given the opportunity, I go all out. As I write this, I'm wearing full metallic eyeshadows on a Sunday morning. I'm sorry.

But I'm not a palette girl, whilst I love my Lorac Pro, I prefer buying individual eyeshadows so I know I'll actually use the colours.

My first choice as an absolute essential has to be a cult favourite, MAC Paintpot in Groundwork which is a primer and eyeshadow in one and is perfect for a base or stand alone colour. It's slightly warm toned but is brilliant for adding slight definition to your eyes especially if you're going for a no makeup makeup look.

The other three choices in my edit are quite new and are KIKO from their new Romantics collection. I have the colours 01, 02, 03 and 06 (great names there). These are all metallic shine eyeshadows and unfortunately don't translate too well on camera but in real life they have the most incredible shine to them. 01 is a gorgeous pale pink that has an ethereal sheen to it - very goddess esque and somewhat pearlescent on the eyelids. 02 is a plum toned metallic - so beautiful but not too purple that it gives you a black eye esque look. I know I'll be reaching for this a lot in autumn.

On a slightly more natural note (yet still metallic), is 03 which is a metallic brown, so pigmented but very beautiful. This looks incredible in the outer corners over groundwork. And finally is the ultimate metallic shade, 06. This is silver. It's absolutely stunning and whilst I'll rarely find a way to use it on a daily basis, it looks incredible as part of a smoky eye, particularly on the centre front of the lid over matte shadows. Gorgeous.

What are some of your favourite individual shadows?
