How to Surely and Slowly Improve Your Appearance

Sometimes it can be scary to make drastic changes to your style and look. You never know what will work. Yet you can slowly improve your appearance with small or continuous changes.

Slow Beauty and Cosmetics

Slow beauty is a new concept that focuses on a more holistic way to improve your appearance and well-being at the same time. In many cases, the two are linked. For instance, you can become depressed or anxious if you aren't happy with how you look. With slow beauty, you can use products that continuously work on your health and looks. For example, you can eliminate the stigma of adult braces with products like Invisalign. Or you can buy organic skin creams that work over time to nourish your skin, rather than harmful treatments like dermal infusions.

Just 15 Minutes Per Day of Exercise

The modern world and attitudes toward body image mean there is more pressure than ever to be thin and look your best. But exercising and dieting can be hazardous to your health if they aren't done correctly. First, you can damage your body from overexercising. And second, fad diets are mainly unproven and work by depriving your body of some nutrients while unhealthily increasing others. Yet you can take your time with exercise to see improvements. Of course, healthy eating plays a role. But just 15 minutes a day is enough for results over a longer period.

Slowly Improve Your Appearance with Enough Sleep

You've probably heard that you need to get enough sleep a thousand times. But studies have found that over half of people don't. And most of those use the weekend to catch up. Yet there are proven cosmetic and health reasons for getting at least 7 hours per night:

  • Specific sleep stages boost blood flow to your skin cells for a healthy glow.

  • Your body produces collagen when you sleep, reducing sags and increasing plumpness.

  • Sleep improves well-being by reducing feelings of stress, depression and anxiety.

Sleep and rest do wonders for the body. You might think getting enough is tricky with your hectic lifestyle. But it's easier than you think. You can begin by simply going to bed early. Exercising is an excellent way to get more tired. But you can also try to avoid naps, caffeine and alcohol.

Transition to Organic Products

The cosmetics industry provides tons of products that contain harmful ingredients. Even skin creams, makeup and hygiene products labelled as natural can contain chemicals that damage your skin. For the best results, you must transition to organic products. Organic products don't contain processed ingredients, preservatives or other additives. And this extends to your food and even clothing. Your skin especially can react to synthetic materials and many of the chemicals used in manufacture and production. Organics will nourish and repair inside and out.

Curate a Whole New Wardrobe

You can use your wardrobe to express yourself or simply define your style. However, it's more than your appearance. Wearing clothing you don't feel helps you look your best and can increase anxiety and depression and lower self-esteem. However, drastically changing your style overnight can be a disaster. You will have better results by trying new things over time. You need time to see what works and what doesn't. Additionally, you need to understand your body shape to find flattering clothes that help you look fabulous and feel confident.

Summary

Rather than harmful quick fixes, you can slowly improve your appearance. Use slow-working beauty products, get enough sleep and gradually develop a new wardrobe that flatters.
