Instant Skincare Fixes

If you're a skincare nut like myself, you're probably rolling your eyes right now but one thing I always am with this blog is honest. And I wouldn't be writing this post if I didn't truly think that these skincare bits and bobs have an instant effect.

Masks are something that I've always loved - they're ideal if your skincare has been slacking and a great way to give your skin a bit of a fresh start. Masks that exfoliate are a firm staple in my weekly beauty routine so when the NIOD Flavanone Mud made my skin soft and glowy after just one use, I was ready to fully integrate it into my life. But the colour is slightly off putting - it's a deep terracotta colour and I'm not going to lie, packaging (whilst aesthetically pleasing), isn't the most practical but it's so good that it's worth it. It's bloomin' brilliant. I put it on for twenty minutes and it makes your skin sting and tingle at the same time but I love it. I was initially quite cautious as I do have very sensitive skin but when I took it off, my skin looked incredible. It was far smoother, even toned and blemishes were reduced and this morning several work colleagues said I looked fresh and glowy! It's not physically exfoliating but there must be something in there that helps buff away dead skin. I've used it three times this week and I'm obsessed. The best thing is, is that it doesn't dry out my skin despite being a mud mask. A+.

Following a mud mask, I always go for a serum or thick moisturiser and have been pairing it with the Hylamide Booster Glow Serum which intrigued me because it's a combination of a gradual tanner and serum. It's so good. A little goes a long way and it leaves my skin soft and sunkissed without even looking the slightest bit orange - and no biscuity scent. It also makes my skin look plumper and more hydrated. I love it. I make sure it goes on my neck as well to avoid the potential for the dreaded jaw line colour change but it just looks so natural. Plus, it hasn't stained my white sheets. It's a win in my books. 

But the best thing about both of these products is that by the morning, it's like I wake up with new skin. What more could a girl want?
