My love of food truly goes without saying. And there is honestly nothing nicer than being invited to try out the new Quick and Easy menu at Jamie's Italian.

Having been a fan of not only Jamie Oliver but also all things Italian food (no surprise there), it was an offer I couldn't refuse so swiftly booked in for the set menu.

We opted for dinner and for £16.95* for both a starter and main - the menu is really reasonably priced! Inspired by Jamie Oliver's latest book 5 Ingredients: Quick and Easy Food, each dish on the menu has you guessed it, 5 ingredients or less!

I went for the 'Crispy Fried Squid & Smashed Avocado' as a starter, which was delicious. I'm a huge fan of fried squid on it's own, but the creaminess of the smashed avocado worked really well with the tart & crunchy squid. My friend went for the 'Proscuitto & Celeriac Salad', which she said was delicious - the saltiness of the Prosciutto worked well with the sharp celeriac.

The mains were definitely the highlight! I went for the mouthwateringly delicious 'Golden Pork Escalope' which was so tender but packed full of flavour. I was initially surprised that this only came with a feta salad and nothing like potatoes, but the portion was huge and there definitely wasn't the need for anything more! My friend went for the Sirloin Steak (£3 on top of the cost) and it was cooked beautifully. She even commented on how flavoursome it was - to the point where she didn't feel like she needed any additional sauce!

The food was so delicious and was a nice change from more typical Italian food! Really packed full of flavour - and the beautifully decorated festive restaurant was an absolute bonus!

The menu is available Sunday - Thursday and is running until December the 3rd.

*Prices correct as of the 21st of November.

Thank you so much to Jamie's Italian for the invitation. Please note that whilst I was invited to review, this post is entirely my honest opinion.
