Welcoming in Spring with Rekorderlig Cider #StartTheSwedishWay #AD
There's something wonderful at having the sun filter through your window before seven am, the sound of birds mingling with your alarm and the prospect of a bright and sunny day unfolding. Spring is a welcome turn in the weather, especially for us from 'up North' as believe me, the long, dreary and tedious strains of winter are not enjoyable.
And with Spring is the potential for warm weather and of course, barbecues. As I approach the end of my degree (two weeks and counting till my final deadline), there's a sense of celebration in the air and I've already found myself invited to numerous BBQ's, which will hopefully be in the sun.
There's nothing better than a myriad of "picky" food such as salads, burgers, you name it and of course, some sort of refreshing drink like a Rekorderlig Cider. Laced with refreshing and delicious fruity flavours, I'm a big fan of a chilled cider. I'm a huge fan of the Strawberry and Lime flavour, but also love the Mango Raspberry - both which were a welcome delight after getting far too warm taking these pictures! Of course, if you choose to host a barbecue or invite friends for a relaxed afternoon in the sun, whilst chilled bottles of Rekorderlig cider in an ice bucket would be great, why not try mixing flavours like the Strawberry and Lime with sprigs of mint, fresh cut strawberries and some lime juice into a cocktail of sort! Paired with a fun straw and served in mason jars, it's a fun way to add a spice to an afternoon.
As we approach the end of April, it's an ideal time to celebrate the country of where the cider originates on Walpurgis Eve, which is a Swedish public holiday which celebrates Spring! What an ideal reason to host a party or two....
I know I'm itching to fully immerse myself into Spring, and of course, it's an ideal excuse to switch up your wardrobe! I'm a huge fan of floaty off shoulder tops like the one photographed as it adds something rather whimsical to any outfit!
If you end up hosting a shindig, don't forget to tag Rekorderlig cider's instagram @Rekorderligcider and tag your pictures with #StartTheSwedishWay to encourage the spread of Spring fun! But of course, remember to drink responsibly.
