The Travel Beauty Edit (Part I)

As you read this post, I'll be on an airplane heading off to a far sunnier Vietnam so I decided to pop up a series of posts on what kind of things I bring along with me. I'm a bit of a travel pro having lived in Asia since the age of four so believe me, I've been on more long haul flights than I can count. But one thing I have learnt is to be scrupulous with what I bring and one thing I really can't fathom is some bloggers who literally bring a kitchen sink along with them when the reality is, is that they won't use them.

This is part one, so less of the beauty and more of the body care.

Things I won't compromise on is shampoo and conditioner - my hair is so dry that unfortunately the hotel shampoos & conditioners won't cut it. I flit between different brands but my current favourite is one I keep coming back to is the L'Oreal Fibrology RangeBecause I'm going to be in the humidity, my hair is likely to be flatter than usual so I'm all for getting some volume in there. This range doesn't feel like I have product in my hair and always works.

Shower gel I'm not as fussy with so will happily use the hotel versions but because I'm going to be staying at my parent's house for a bit, I've popped a Soap&Glory Sugar Crush Shower Gel because it smells so damn good.

Because I'm going to be in the sun alot, moisturisers and oils are so essential, especially for prolonging a tan and avoiding the dreaded skin blistering sunburn. For days where I'm wearing shorts (basically every day), I adore the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Dry Oil which is bronzy and has a slight glitter which is great for enhancing a tan. And of course, I've popped in a body butter and this Soap&Glory Sugar Crush Body Buttercream will help with post shave days.

Skincare is something that I refuse to compromise on and I like to have options, especially after a 14 hour flight which will leave my skin hating everything. I do however depot my skincare (the masks are purely there for photographic purposes).

I've popped my two go to's, Una Brennan Super Facialist Cleansing Oil and Soap&Glory Peaches and Clean into Muji mini pump bottles because I really couldn't live without them. And for masks, I've popped a new fave, the B Glycolic Peel into a Muji pot because it's very moisturising but softening at the same time. I've of course brought along my ultimate mask, the Origins Original Skin Mask into a pot as well as it not only helps spots but exfoliates and leaves my skin brighter. And of course, my source of moisture includes the Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate and the Nip&Fab Glycolic Fix Serum which I'll apply at night to avoid a sticky face in the morning. The one thing that humidity always does is often makes my skin appear oily if I apply moisturiser in the morning.

I'm quite scrupulous with my body care, but what do you bring? Watch this space for my inflight beauty bag as well as the makeup I'll be bringing.

What kind of things do you always pack?
