Nobody likes to think about themselves getting older, especially when you look in the mirror and see the signs of aging on your face.

Before you rush out and get a facelift, there are lots of simple things that you can do to help yourself to appear much younger.

Here are the top eight ways to help you to look younger.

Moisturize. Then Use Foundation

As you age your skin gets drier. This is because your hormone levels drop. This may make you want to rush out and buy cream foundation, however, there is a better way. Instead, try using your foundation after you have moisturized or used a hydrating primer.

Use Collagen-Based Face Creams

Collagen is proven to help ease wrinkles. Just using it on your skin for a fortnight could be all that you need to see some real difference in how toned your skin appears.

Simplify Your Eye Makeup

If you have oily eyelids, this could cause your eyeshadow to run. Instead of putting more product on, use a thin layer of clear primer to keep everything where it needs to be.

Once you have done this, you just need to apply some shadows in a flattering tone and use a liquid eyeliner to create a perfect line. It’s that simple.

Curl Your Eyelashes

Even a small curl to your lashes can make you look that extra bit younger. Using an eyelash curler, and hold it for just 15 seconds on each eye.

Use Concealer on Your Dark Circles

To stop your concealer from drawing attention to your wrinkles, you should only apply it to the inner parts of your under-eye. Make sure you are only using it to cover any of the darker patches.

Use Suncream

Nothing causes your skin to age like spending too much time in the sun without the right protection. If you are going outside on a sunny day, even if you are not planning on sunbathing, you should make sure that you use suncream. You should especially make sure that you have some on your face.

Sun damage can quickly show up on areas such as your eyelids and under your eyes so pay particular attention to these areas.

Take Eye Make-Up Off Gently

While it might be a relief to take your eye make up off at the end of the day, don’t rush it. When you are pulling at your skin and wiping your makeup off vigorously at the delicate areas of skin around your eyes can leave it looking saggy and can add to dark patches.

Instead, remove your eye makeup as gently as possible and use hydrating cleansing oil to help you get your eye areas clean.

Lighten Your Hair

Dark hair can make lightness in your scalp and thinning stand out more. It can also cause shadows to form on your face which will make your wrinkles stand out.

Lightening your hair colour can help dramatically. You only need to go two or three shades lighter to see a difference.
