An Autumn Skincare Update
It seems to have gotten much colder in the past three weeks to the point where my skin has been much drier than usual and slightly more inflamed. I always switch up my skincare when it starts getting colder so I thought I’d share the products I’ve been introducing into my skincare routine!
Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair*
This has been a fairly new introduction and something I was kindly gifted but it’s perfect for packing loads of moisture into my skin overnight. I’ve been trialling a few slightly more abrasive products so this has really helped to heal and restore my skin, leaving it much calmer and noticeably more radiant. I’ve been prioritising this over oils as it doesn’t get into my hair but still hydrates my skin as much as an oil would!
Again, this is something fairly new to my routine but I’ve been really loving it for a multitude of things! It’s a thick balm that melts down quickly and I’ve been loving it for moisturising my cuticles, and applying dry skin areas! I’ve been struggling with a cold the past few days so have found my nose to be really dry and this has been ideal to soothing sore, dry skin. Love this so much and it’s definitely going to be a winter staple!
I’ve gone through a tube of this in about a month because I love it so much! It’s almost a balm texture but as it’s an overnight mask, it is incredible moisturising. It’s part of the BB Skin trend which aims to make your skin baby soft overnight and this genuinely does. Because of the velvety texture, it doesn’t feel greasy, but it really makes a difference overnight!
The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion
Surprisingly, I’ve never really ventured into the world of Retinoids until now. I’ve tried a few but they’ve always broken me out quite badly, but I’ve been really enjoying The Ordinary one. Not only is it really affordable, but it’s quite a strong retinoid and whilst it has broken me out slightly, it has improved the overall quality and texture of my skin. Because of the effect it has on my skin, I think I’ll only be using it a couple of times a week, but it’ll be worth it!
Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base Primer and Moisturiser*
This has been my go to daily moisturiser and it is so good. Not only is it really thick and really hydrating, but it is designed to act as a primer so works really well with makeup application! I’ve not found many thick moisturisers that don’t cause makeup to pile, but this works really well at keeping my skin fresh and my makeup in place all day!
What type of products do you tend to switch to for the colder months? Any essentials I need to try?
