The Post-Gym Makeup Edit
Since I tend to go to the gym before work, I've found myself bringing along some makeup especially as I often end up red faced even post-shower... But as I have to carry a makeup bag, I try to keep it quite streamlined and minimal.
The Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser is one of my all time favourite Summer makeup options as it provides a good amount of coverage for a small amount of product. Whilst it leaves a glowy finish, it doesn't look greasy so is ideal for getting that healthy lit from within glow.
I don't always need concealer but I like to carry the Estee Lauder Perfectionist Youth-Infusing Brightening Serum + Concealer* because it has a heavy duty concealer on one end and a glowy brightening one on the other. For a day-to-day, I like a bit of the brightening serum beneath my eyes as it really does illuminate! This is quite a 'glowy' formula so I do set it with a powder.
As a setting powder, my all time favourite is the Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder which is a yellow toned, glowy 'matte' (supposedly) finish that doesn't crease or disappear during the day. I apply this to the centre of my forehead, beneath my eyes and down the sides of my nose and chin just to set everything in place. Because I work in an office, it's a dry environment and my skin tries to oppose this by going shiny. This powder tends to reduce this and prevents me from dripping oil over my desk... (What a lovely image there. You're welcome.)
For a bit of colour, I don't bother with blush (the post-gym red face does that...) but I use the bronzer from the Barry M Chisel Cheeks Contour Kit to give my face a bit of colour and dimension. As we're stepping into summer, I love a bit of a bronzy look and I love this bronzer as it's matte.
Because I recently had my eyebrows micro-bladed, I don't fill them in anymore and find the NYX Tinted Brow Gel to provide a sufficient swish of colour and set my brows in place for the day. I'm really trying to incorporate more cruelty-free products into my daily makeup routine so this really fits the bill. The brush is small and the gel contains fibres that add a bit more volume to your brows.
For eyes, I never bother with eyeshadow but always wear my NYX Matte Liquid Liner and the NYX XXL Mascara. The liner is the best I've ever tried and lasts all day without any transfer. It's a really smooth consistency and is waterproof to the extent where it survives a good sweat... I've tried a few NYX Mascaras but this is my favourite as it really does give my lashes a boost.
What are some of your favourite work makeup choices? Do you bring makeup to wear after the gym?
