The Importance of Self Care
You might have noticed that things have been a bit quiet around here on both my social media and the blog because I'd hit a block. Bloggers block is something I'd really never experienced much before, usually I'm able to just push through it but not this time.
Nothing was right. My words were clunky and my pictures just looked awkward (and I couldn't get the lighting right). So instead of publishing posts that I was deeply unhappy with, I took a break. I didn't stress over the fact that my blog was stagnant and I didn't stress that page views had dipped and that I was losing instagram followers by the minute; I needed the time.
And now I'm back. I closed off an entire Sunday purely to get some posts scheduled and pictured and hopped back onto the Buffer scheduled tweet train.
But this week or so off has made me realise how important it is to spend time for yourself, time where I was able to just sit and watch Gilmore Girls in bed and then go to sleep at 8pm. To go to the gym and not stress that I'd forgotten to post an instagram picture. Take a break, breathe, refresh yourself and then hit go.
