Staying Close: Planning A Girl's Getaway With Your Little Sis
Maybe you’ve recently moved out of home, to go to uni, or you’ve finally found that perfect apartment, congratulations; that’s positive news for you! However, if you’ve left a little sister back in the family home; it might be a challenging adjustment for her, and you (we’re assuming you both get on well). Obviously, WhatsApp, FacTime, and social media will ensure that you can keep track of what you’ve both been up to. But, it’ll still be an emotional change and you’re bound to miss one another.
Therefore, it’s important that you schedule some quality time together. If she’s still at school, why not plan a Friday night getaway or a leisurely weekend somewhere. Or, you could wait for the school holidays, and grab a midweek bargain. A “grown-up” is the perfect chance to catch up properly, chat about what’s been going on at home since you left, and ensure that you’re making in-person memories together. The following are some ideas for big sisters everywhere, who want to treat their younger sis to some quality time away.

Spa Treats
There are loads of great overnight spa packages, or you might just want to head to a spa first thing in the morning and spend the day there. Book treatments that you can enjoy together; you could enjoy a massage, or perhaps you want a joint manicure. The pool and jacuzzi will be an ideal space to chill out and catch up, so grab your swimwear. If needed, you can get your sis some teen period swimwear so she can be comfortable and confident whatever time of the month you both decide to go and relax. Enjoy lunch and some smoothies together, and you’ll both leave feeling refreshed and smiling.
Fresh Air
If you’re both into nature, fresh air, and getting outside as much as possible; why not book an overnight stay in a cottage, in the countryside. Self-catering gives you the chance to eat your favourite snacks whenever you want, enjoy preparing a meal together, and stock up on tasty breakfast treats. Then, it’s all about wrapping up in cosy clothes and putting some good shoes on (sorry to sound like your mum), and getting out there to talk, take pictures and videos, and head back to watch T.V together, before dark. Having a shared interest that you’ve enjoyed since you were little, is an ideal reason to regularly meet up.
Food Fans
Sometimes, a new cafe, restaurant, or brunch venue opens up and there’s a huge hype about it on social media. If you both love your food, be that pasta, sweet things, or roast dinners; you can make it your mission to find the “best one” together. Take a look on socials, and see what everyone is photographing and raving about. Then, there’s no harm in basing a whole day and night away, around eating it. If it’s a cake, cookie, or doughnut you’re after; there’s also no harm in grabbing a box to take home; well, you did go all that way to eat one!
